ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
About IMEFF
The International Migration & Environmental Film Festival (IMEFF) is a not-for-profit cultural festival dedicated to stories at the intersection of human movement and environmental change. Launched in 2021, IMEFF brings together filmmakers, artists and audiences to explore migration, displacement, identity, justice, climate change, conservation and the meaning of home.
Our Story
IMEFF was launched in 2021 to provide an international platform for films and creative works examining two defining realities of our time: the movement of people and the transformation of the natural world. The festival recognizes that migration and environmental change are deeply connected to questions of identity, justice, survival, community and belonging.
Our Mission
Our mission is to use film and the arts to raise awareness, encourage discussion and inspire action around migration and environmental issues. IMEFF presents thoughtful, challenging and hopeful stories that educate, entertain and inform while creating space for different communities and experiences to be seen and understood.
