The Marsican Brown Bear imprinted its legacy in the Central Apennines centuries ago. This endemic species once thrived in the region, but it is now recognised as being endangered. Human interference has greatly compromised the bears’ potential to populate and survive in the area over the years.
Director Biography – Constantinos Christou
I am a Film graduate of Plymouth College of Art, working in productions of multiple scales around the globe. My initiative to select various filmmaking projects is so that I can maintain my engagement with industry professionals and the indie sphere simultaneously. In my experience, there is no one avenue to finding exciting and fulfilling projects, so I keep myself open to all opportunities, no matter where they come from.
I have collaborated with Microsoft, TEDx, Plymouth College of Art, Rewilding Europe, Rewilding Apennines, Salviamo l’Orso, Off the Fence and the Erasmus Student Network. The projects ranged from event highlights, promotional videos, documentaries and timelapses, mainly filmed with my own gear.
My work competed in various festivals across the USA, Caribbean, France, Cyprus, China, Hong Kong, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Czechia and Poland, with a growing roaster year after year.
I joined IAWF (International Association of Wildlife Filmmakers), GTC (The Guild of Television and Camera Professionals), the Wildscreen Network and the DGC (Directors Guild of Cyprus), the CPS (Canon Professional Services) as a Platinum Member, expanding and diversifying my network as I learn from experienced colleagues while I seek out opportunities to help out newcomers to the field.
I am currently focused on wildlife filmmaking and natural history documentaries, capturing biodiversity in all it’s evolving conditions and promoting sustainability of all forms.
