Director Biography – Cigdem Slankard

Cigdem Slankard is a filmmaker based in Cleveland, OH. She was born and raised in Turkey and received her BA in translation and interpreting from Bogazici University (Istanbul, Turkey). She relocated to the US to study film, and received her MFA in filmmaking from Ohio University. Her creative work dwells on urban issues and migration stories, with an emphasis on underrepresented voices and marginalized communities.
