A forgotten migration story… A migrant’s journey to his roots, the story of first-generation guest workers who migrated from Turkey to Germany in the 1960s. The lead character in the documentary travels to his village; to his memories, his childhood, his family’s home. Having migrated from a village in Turkey to Germany with his mother and father 60 years ago, the protagonist returns to his roots and childhood memories, bidding farewell to his home, his village, and his memories.

İlker Zor has graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema in 2004 and master’s degree from Anadolu University Institute of Social Sciences in 2013. Master’s thesis is “Narrative Structure In Short Film: An Analysis Of Four Turkish Films Screened At Cannes Film Festival”. He completed his doctorate in Anadolu University Social Sciences Institute, Department of Cinema and Television, with thesis titled “Tragedy in Asghar Farhadi Cinema”. His academic research areas are cinema, short film and media. He worked in Anadolu University as research assistant between the years of 2010 and 2018. He is working at Çukurova University as a research assistant doctor since 2018.
