“Allergic” by DC-based pop duo Lil Idli is a visual music project that explores heartbreak through soul-stirring imagery and an experimental, moving ballad. The piece asks questions about human relationships to nature, and explores how love & loss have as much to do with climate change as it does matters of the heart.
Director Biography – Sanjana Sekhar
Sanjana Sekhar is an Indian-American filmmaker and regenerative communicator engaging in the intersections of climate and culture.
Her work seeks to amplify character-driven stories that heal our human relationships to each other and to our planet, with a specific interest in socioecological justice, ancestral knowledge, and regeneration.
As a director, Sanjana’s approach prioritizes decolonizing the lens with intimacy, dignity, and warmth. She creates across documentary, art film, music video, and branded content for clients like The Washington Post Creative Group, SHAZ & KIKS, Girlfriend Collective, and The New Yorker. Sanjana has been featured in Sage Magazine, Rolling Stone India, Tedx Climate AcrosstheAmericas, Sakhi Gender Justice Showcase in NYC, and Close to Home Environmental Art Show in Charlottesville, VA. Outside of film, she’s a Kathak dancer, an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, and the co-founder of Sapling Collective. Sanjana is based in LA on ancestral Tongva land.
