Director Biography – Gabriel Bissonnette
Gabriel is a director who was born in Laval in 1982, he later grew up in Montreal where he discovered cinema in a youth centre. He cut his teeth in cinema at Cégep de Rosemont and then perfected his skills in editing at ECTQ in Quebec. He built a strong experience thanks to personal projects of short films. He has also formed his own group called Fusion Film. He is now self-employed in the big city of Montreal. He produces as many shows as films or web series.
Some notable projects: In 2009 he received an Art Partage grant for the film Lena dans le mirroir,
Gabriel is making a documentary A Letter from Gaïa and is funded through grants obtained from the Courses des Régions. The same year, Gabriel directed the film KO for which he was nominated for best direction. It is broadcast on the UNIS.TV channel, screened at Kino Montréal 2018 and at the Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois. Since then, he has produced several other short films such as Les autres where he received the prize for best special effects at the Yes Mtl festival, L’or bleu with the theme of water war. Finally, he directed and produced two agritourism programs entitled À la bonne franquette for Bell’s TV1 channel.
