Libya, west coast. Binta and Abdul are held hostage by a trafficker who prevents them from continuing their journey to Europe. They have been sold, passed from hand to hand, reduced to bodies without identities. In a twist of fate, their executioners are swallowed up by a moonless night, leaving them alone.

Director Biography – Alessio Genovese

Alessio Genovese (08-12-1981) is a screenwriter, director and reporter with extensive experience in the Middle East and North Africa. He started working as a reporter and in 2014 made his first documentary “EU 013 the Last Frontier”, which was presented at Rotterdam Film Festival. Since 2018 he has been promoting “FunKino – Cinema for Inclusion”, the participatory cinema project for disadvantaged youth and prisoners. As assistant director and extras coordinator he has collaborated with Marco Bellocchio, Michele Placido, Daniele Espinosa, and with Matteo Garrone for the Oscar nominated “Io capitano”.
