Director Biography – Tim Guthrie
TIM GUTHRIE is an Omaha-based multi-media visual artist and filmmaker. His work has been awarded Independent Artist Fellowships in for his traditional and digital art, and filmmaking and garnered national and international awards for his work. He has also presented his at the Sorbonne in Paris, France.
He was a TEDx Omaha speaker in 2018, and his current project, The Museum of Alternative History, was shown at Kaneko and has also garnered awards, and is currently being turned into a large coffee table sized art book.
Residencies include the Blue Mountain Center, Vermont Studio Center, Hall Farm, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, International Sculpture Center, as well as fellowships from the Sierra Arts Foundation, and the Nevada Arts Council, each funded by the NEA.
His films, including “Missing Piece,” have won numerous Best Documentary awards, the 2017 Humanitarian Award (GIFA), as well as Audience Awards, several Special Juror’s Awards, and other top awards. His work has been shown widely, including in Wales, UK, Sweden, Bucharest, Sydney, Hiroshima, Greece, Italy, among others.
He is a professor at Creighton University.
