Director Biography – Agustín Remesal Pérez


He was born in the Zamora town of Gema in 1947. He obtained degrees in CC. Politics and Sociology and Journalism (Complutense University) and the title of Programming at the RTVE School. He joined RTVE as a journalist in 1975 and spent his entire career on Radio Nacional de España and Televisión Española. Specialized in international information, he served as a foreign correspondent and special envoy since 1983, with destinations in Rome, Paris, New York, London, Angola, Lisbon, Jerusalem and Lebanon. Between 1994 and 1996, he hosted the informative space ‘The reader’, on La 2 de TVE. He directed and wrote the scripts for several documentary series and long reports for TVE, among them “La Raya Quebrada”, “Ribadelago: chronicle of a tragedy”, “Amazonas: the skin of the jungle”, “Baltasar Lobo: the solitude of the sculptor ”And“ León Felipe: the pilgrim poet ”. He has collaborated with articles on history and travel topics in GEO and National Geographic magazines among others, and has published hundreds of articles on international politics in various newspapers. He is the author of a dozen books of a historical nature, among which are ‘Gaza, a prison without a roof’, ‘A banquet for the gods’,’ The enigma of Maine, “Through the lands of Portugal” and “Unusual Zamora”. He has been distinguished with several journalistic awards, including the Eduardo de Lourenço Award (2003) and the Francisco de Cossío Award (2009) for professional career. He is the author of a dozen books of a historical nature, among which are ‘Gaza, a prison without a roof’, ‘A banquet for the gods’,’ The Maine enigma, ‘Through the lands of Portugal’ and ‘Unusual Zamora’. He has been distinguished with several journalistic awards, including the Eduardo de Lourenço Award (2003) and the Francisco de Cossío Award (2009) for professional career. He is the author of a dozen books of a historical nature, among which are ‘Gaza, a prison without a roof’, ‘A banquet for the gods’,’ The enigma of Maine, “Through the lands of Portugal” and “Unusual Zamora”. He has been distinguished with several journalistic awards, including the Eduardo de Lourenço Award (2003) and the Francisco de Cossío Award (2009) for professional career.
