Beginning with his first feature documentary, \u2018the ballad of vicki and jake\u2019 (2006), Thomas\u2019s films have focused on issues surrounding health and medicine and include two feature documentaries about children living in areas of Fukushima contaminated by the 2011 nuclear meltdown, \u2018In the Grey Zone\u2018 (2012) and \u2018A2-B-C\u2018 (2013). Thomas\u2019s recent work has focused on death and dying in Japan and includes \u2018-1287\u2018 (2014) and \u2018Sending Off\u2019 (2019).
