The IMEFF Finalists get to premiere on the red carpet in the historical and beautiful city Toronto, Canada for our annual International Film Festival. With that, all of our finalists get their place in the official IMEFF Catalog, where they remain forever. And of course, all of our filmmakers in the competition category are automatically in the running for our AWARDS AND PRIZES!
Competition, Official Selection, EAC LAB, Film Market’
COMPETITION
Films selected for this category vie for an assortment of awards and prizes for the best short film, best documentary, best narrative, best animation, best pictures.
NON- COMPETITION
Films selected for this category can be listed among finalists and be officially selected to screen at the festival but can not participate in the festival competition and are not eligible for awards and prizes.
Projects We Are Looking For:
The International Migration and Environmental Film Festival (IMEFF) is looking for documentary, short, and feature films that explore the themes of migration and environmental sustainability. In addition to film, IMEFF is also interested in featuring poetry that addresses these issues.
Documentaries: IMEFF is seeking documentaries that delve into the complex and often challenging experiences of migration, as well as the impact of environmental sustainability on communities and the planet. The festival is interested in showcasing documentaries that provide unique perspectives, challenge the status quo, and inspire action.
Short Films: IMEFF is interested in short films that provide a succinct and impactful look at migration and environmental sustainability. Short films can be creative, thought-provoking, and often leave a lasting impression on audiences.
Feature Films: IMEFF is looking for feature-length films that delve into the complexities of migration and environmental sustainability in a more comprehensive way. Feature films can provide an immersive and powerful look at these issues and the impact they have on communities and the world.
Poetry: IMEFF is interested in featuring poetry that addresses migration and environmental sustainability. Poetry can provide a powerful and emotional expression of these issues, and can be an important way to raise awareness and encourage action.

EMERGING ARTIST FOR CHANGE (EAC LAB)
Emerging Artist for change is a talent lab that focuses on empowering, celebrating and training young filmmakers, artist, activists, photographers and writers in creating social awareness contents on migration, environment, human rights through arts. It runs during the festival and features; Workshops, Exhibitions, Panel sessions and a Pitching session where best project win a grant, facilitated by our sponsors. Registration will be announced and qualified participants will be shortlisted for the talent hub.
